“Sulwe” is wonderful story about a young, darker skinned girl who feels as though she is not pretty because she looks different from everyone else. In the story, a shooting star takes her on an adventure to show her the story of night and day. No one appreciated night so she ran off, and then they realized how important night was and asked her to come back and they appreciated her for the rest of their lives. The moral of the story is what I believe makes this a wonderful book. The moral is that just because she looks different does not mean that she does not have light inside of her which makes her beautiful.
I would give this book five out of five stars. It has a very important lesson for young kids to learn because they should know that just because they look different, they are still beautiful on the inside and outside. The text is also very easy to read because there are not a lot of words on each page, and the illustrations are so interesting and detailed that they will easily keep the interest of young readers. I would recommend this book for any young reader to read, or as a read aloud book in a classroom because it teaches such a important lesson.
I am not familiar with this text, so thank you for bringing it to my attention. It sounds like the story includes a very important message for children.
